The Details
We provide 2 guttering services which can either be done together or separately as required. Here we explain the process of what we refer to as ‘clearing’ the gutters. (See gutter, fascia and soffit cleaning for our other gutter service).
Gutter clearing involves emptying the gutters of leaves, moss and debris that can interrupt the flow of water. This service is often an annual job but may be required more often depending on your surroundings. In any case regular maintenance is important to keep water flowing away from the building preventing damp caused by overflowing gutters.
Getting A Quote
Initially we may need to come and have a look at your property. Particularly when it comes to gutter clearing or cleaning, there can be many different layouts depending on the size of a house, extensions or conservatories etc. We do this to make sure we can access all areas and that we can give you an accurate quote based on what you would like done. Of course it also allows us to introduce ourselves and that often helps when you are making a decision on who you want working around your home or business.
Google maps is also a great tool these days and for some properties we may be able to take a look online and give you a quote. Although not all of our covered area is mapped!
We will always talk with you to discuss the quote so both ourselves and the customer is clear on what’s needed and what you can expect from us.
What You Can Expect From Our Service
To clear the gutters we use a vacuum on an extended pole, reaching all areas including hard to reach areas such as dormer windows and above conservatories. The vacuum removes everything including sitting water, enabling us to see clearly any stubborn blockages that we may need to focus on. When we believe everything is clear we will use an inspection camera on top of the vacuum pole to view all the gutters and downpipes to ensure we leave them completely empty.
What Is The Outcome
Getting the gutters cleared on a property is very worthwhile in keeping your home or property well maintained. If downpipes are blocked water can back up and sit in the guttering and potentially cause damp around your house that you may not be able to see. Or it can cause rain water to simply flow over the top if the gutters are blocked.
Getting them cleared will prevent these things from happening and help keep your property well maintained.
